New ways of conversations and interactingThese are the WhatsApp objectives. At least these are their justifications for the constant updates, fixes, and new features that keep popping up in the app. Some people are bothered by the profusion of features, but in fact, WhatsApp (and Meta) has been striving to make conversations and interactions as close to real-life dynamics as possible – and this involves written texts, audio recordings, emojis, stickers and a whole range of other resources.
Find out below the latest features (and/or design improvements) that promise to make WhatsApp more fun and easier to use.
Camera effects: In 2024, WhatsApp released some camera effects for video calls. The feature was a hit, and now they include a new functionality: when taking a photo or recording a video and sending it in the chat, you can choose from up to 30 different backgrounds, filters, and effects.
Selfie stickers: Here's the combination of two user-favorite features: stickers and selfies. Now you can further customize stickers by transforming selfies into these creative stickers. Simply tap the sticker to create one, and the user will see the camera option to take a selfie or create their own. This feature is already available on Android; coming soon to iOS.
Sharing the sticker pack: Liked a sticker pack and think your friends will love it? Now you can share sticker packs directly in chats.
Faster reactions: Double-tap a message to react; drag the menu that opens and choose from the most used reactions.
Focus on Conversations
At first glance, perhaps the new features may seem silly or too simple, but they corroborate the WhatsApp's ultimate strategy: focus on conversations (more precisely, in the complexity of the human communication process, which involves intentions, gestures and intonation that are difficult to replicate in raw text). Therefore, the growing investment in graphic resources (emoji, stickers, selfies) and audiovisuals (voice and video calls) to add even more “realism” and intention to the communication process.
Most of these new features, however, have greater application for users and individuals. Companies and businesses who want to improve the communication process via WhatsApp have other resources – also quite interesting. The WhatsApp Flows, which adds advanced interaction features in conversations, ideal for promoting services in the conversation flow.
THE WhatsApp Payment which provides the possibility of payments directly in the application, with direct and real-time monitoring on your digital communication platform.
And the very WhatsApp Business API, which includes a series of professional features to WhatsApp, such as the integration of Chatbots and Voicebots, interactive buttons and menus, and the chance to obtain the blue verification badge.
All these professional resources are available in the range of solutions Matrix Go and they really make a difference when communicating professionally with users and customers. If the focus is on conversations, let them be increasingly fluid, natural and strategic.
