The assistant will search for the information in real time on the Internet, through the Microsoft search engine, and respond with text, an image, or audio.

What sets Meta AI apart is that it doesn't just reproduce existing information, but is also capable of generating new and creative content, using... Emu, Meta's generative AI image engine. For example, if you want to see a picture of a blue dog with wings, simply type "Meta AI, show me a picture of a blue dog with wings." The assistant will create a unique image that fulfills your request.
Meta AI can also have personality and specific knowledge about a particular topic or subject. The company will offer themed virtual assistants built with the same technology. They will have their own name, face, and voice, and will be able to converse with users about cooking, tourism, sports, and even RPGs. Some of them will be inspired by celebrities, such as rapper Snoop Dogg, who became an RPG master.
The company will also launch a studio so users can create their own virtual assistants with generative AI. There will also be an API so that developers can integrate Meta AI into their applications.
The announcement of Meta AI was made by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, this Wednesday, the 27th, during Meta Connect, an online event that presented the company's new features for the future. According to Zuckerberg, Meta AI is a way to make the Internet more accessible, fun, and useful for people.
“Meta AI is a new way to interact with the Internet. You no longer need to type keywords into a search engine or browse through multiple websites to find what you're looking for. You can simply talk to Meta AI and it will help you find or create whatever you want,” said Zuckerberg.
Beta testing of Meta AI is underway, but a commercial launch date has not yet been set. Zuckerberg explained that the company is being cautious due to the challenges inherent in generative AI, which could generate unwanted or offensive content.
“We are launching more slowly than usual so that we can fix problems as they arise. We want this technology to be beneficial to society. I am optimistic,” said the CEO of Meta.
