Emu is an acronym for "expressive media universe".But it's also a bird typical of Australia – apparently Meta liked the idea of naming its AI engines after exotic animals. The news was presented by Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, during the Meta Connect event this Wednesday, the 27th, in the USA.

THE Emu is capable of generating high-resolution images in just five seconds, from a text command.Several examples were demonstrated by Zuckerberg during his presentation. He asked Emu to create images of things like a blue dog with wings, a unicorn with three horns, and a cat wearing a cowboy hat. Emu complied and generated unprecedented and realistic images that surprised the audience.
Emu will soon be incorporated into new features in Meta applications. One of them will be the ability to... to create stickers in a WhatsApp conversationSimply describe what you want and unique stickers will be generated. Instagram, in turn, will offer filters to alter images based on written requests.
Zuckerberg explained that Emu is a way to make communication more fun and creative. “Emu is a new way to express your personality and your imagination. You can create images that never existed before, and share them with your friends and family,” said the CEO of Meta.
Emu will also be integrated into Meta AI. Meta's generative AI virtual assistant will be launched soon. Meta AI can be opened within any conversation in the company's apps, such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger. To do so, simply start the phrase with "Meta AI," followed by the desired command.
Meta AI could use Emu to generate images on demand for users.For example, if you want to see a picture of a place you've never visited, just type "Meta AI, show me a picture of the Eiffel Tower." The assistant will create an image using Emu and show it to you.
Emu is one of Meta's most ambitious projects in the field of generative artificial intelligence. The company hopes that this technology can bring more innovation and entertainment to the digital world.
