When it comes to IA, every day (or every minute) is a news, a disruptive model, a new feature, or even a platform that promises to revolutionize the market. Big players like Google usually attract our attention due to their market share and pioneering technological solutions. Because this week (February 5, 2025), Google has made Gemini 2.0 available to all developers and users.
THE Gemini had already been used by developers from an experimental access made by Google previously, for an initial version of the multimodal AI model, the Gemini 2.0 Flash. Such model can understand and generate text, audio and images (and even work in multiple languages simultaneously).
For professionals, it will be possible to access the Gemini API, the Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite (a low-cost model) and an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Pro (even more advanced with complex prompts).
The release did not surprise experts at timing considered a clear answer the revolution that the DeepSeek appeared on the market weeks ago with a smarter, free and infinitely lower cost model when compared to other generative AI models, such as ChatGPT and Gemini itself.

THE Google, however, is not ready to give up its market hegemony without a good fight. This is because, beyond Gemini 2.0, one of the company's big bets to advance with AI agents, he also confirmed several new developments on the way.
According to Google, they are updating the Project Astra, which promises to develop a universal artificial intelligence agent.
THE Project Mariner incorporates AI agents to navigate the web and perform actions on websites based on user commands.
THE Jules is an AI-powered code agent aimed at developers. The three projects are already being tested with a selected few.
There is also the Experimental Flash Thinking, an AI model whose main difference is that it shows the “reasoning” of the response model – something quite interesting in terms of transparency and improvement.
Remember, Gemini 2.0 Flash can be accessed via the Gemini app (Android and iOS) and computers.
In short, as we always say, when it comes to Artificial intelligence, the constant evolution marked by new and "new" features and fierce competition among big tech companies, it promises to go far. We continue to follow scenes from the next chapters.
