It prepares the body to react\u2014to fight, flee, protect itself, approach.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Elaborated feeling<\/strong>, on the other hand, is the <strong>Cognitive interpretation of emotion<\/strong>That&#039;s when the brain <strong>assigns meaning<\/strong> Regarding emotion: &quot;I feel anger because I was wronged,&quot; &quot;I feel joy because I achieved something.&quot;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember1891\">This translation is mediated by regions such as the <strong>ventromedial prefrontal cortex<\/strong> and the <strong>orbitofrontal cortex<\/strong>, which connect emotion and language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emotion is the electrical signal. Feeling is the narrative the brain creates to justify that signal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember1893\">Without language, there is no elaborate feeling\u2014only pure emotion. Therefore, <strong>Language is the instrument that transforms impulses into consciousness.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ember1894\">And where do the machines come in?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember1895\">You <strong>language models<\/strong> (LLMs) attempt to reproduce this process, but without awareness or emotion.
